Marvel Attacktix Preview #17: Wolverine November 21, 2006

Posted by webofwebhead in Attacktix, CMG, Marvel, Previews.

Welcome to week 4 of the Marvel Attacktix previews.  You’ll find previews here, at the Joe Attacktix site, and at the Master Attacktix site.  We’ll be covering a figure a day each week day until we have covered all of the figures.

Tonight we are back over to the Marvel Heroes starter, with the best there is at what he does…

 Wolverine Attacktix

  • Attack: Striker – Claw Sweep
  • Defense: Medium Base
  • Points: 30
  • Attacktix Class: Leader
  • Marvel Class: X-Men
  • Base Speed: 12
  • Special Power: Attackback – Leader
  • Number: (M/20)
  • Rarity: Fixed – Starter/Marvel Heroes

Brett’s Notes: Today is another one of my favorite sculpts in the set.  This is a very solid looking Wolverine figure.  Unlike most of the X-Men, this figure has a power that works across the Attacktix and Marvel Classes, Attackback for Leaders.  Not only does this let him work very well with the other starter figures, giving new players a solid foundation from which to build squads from, but this also offers existing players plenty of crossover possibilities, considering some of the biggest and baddest Attacktix to date (I’m looking at you Optimus Prime and Vader) are also Leaders.  Fitting for a character like Wolverine, who much like Spidey tends to end up in a lot of Crossovers.

Joe’s Notes: The Starter Set Wolverine is an excellent figure for a true beginner, someone new to the game.  This Wolverine is a standard striker, with a speed of 12 and a solid attack.  He has a medium base, with a decent reach, but not as long as a lightsaber.  His Special Power will work with a Leader, and while there is no other Leader on the X-Men (unless you play with two Starter Sets) he will work with Spider-Man from the same Starter. The striker figure has very little deformed quality, far from the over-sized hands of Beast and Venom.  This has the potential to be one of the most popular strikers in the series.

Look for more previews tomorrow. – B
