Until the figures are in the stores, Joe Attacktix and Web of Webhead will be previewing the new Star Wars Attacktix Series 4 and Transformers Attacktix Series 1.

Today's preview is the second day of "Imperial March", which will run through the week, culminating with the new Darth Vader on Friday…:

Royal Guard

Royal Guard

  • Attack: Staff Strike
  • Defense: Medium Base
  • Points: 20
  • Attacktix Class: Specialist
  • Star Wars Class: Empire
  • Base Speed: 10
  • Special Power: Stun – Rebel
  • Number: (SW/05)4)

Moving up in the Imperial heirarchy, we have the Royal Guard.  This version is very similar to the existing version, trading Warrior status for Specialist and dropping some speed, from 12 to 10.  However, the new Special, Stun, has the possibility to be devastating against primarily Rebel opponents.

What is Stun?

Stun – If White > Your opponent may not move any of their [CLASS] on their next turn.

Like I said…a particularly devastating power if you can target the proper Attacktix or Star Wars Class with it.  Since there are plenty of Rebels to go around, there is a good chance this special could stop them in their tracks for a turn.

That's it for today.  Make sure to check the Joe Attacktix site for the Transformers review.  Check back here tomorrow as the Imperial March continues… – B

His pink arms look pretty girly… I hope they get that paint job fixed! So I’m guessing Stun works like this – None of your opponent’s Rebels may attack on their next turn. ?

D’oh, updated with new power description…that’s what I get for posting previews with a screaming 2 year old on my lap. 🙂

Dang…this is further incentive to divest one’s self of a purely striker team and perhaps add in some small missile shooters to the mix. I rue the day that this special starts targeting Jedi.

I agree Yoda. I am (now.. lol) all about having a bunch of your 10 point Jedi Knights, but I think there are a few reasons (as of series 4) to include a couple of shooters in the mix… even to keep as long range snipers that are hard to knock down with a distant missile shot (such as the Jawas, etc).

As far as the Royal Guard goes, he seems cool.. but I am hoping that he is not a “common”, as I don’t think I’d want more than 1 or 2 of him (but that’s just me :)).

I just hope hes a better striker than the s3 royal guard. I think I have 4 of them, and not a single one of them can knock down anything.
