Starting today and running until the figures are in the stores, Joe Attacktix and Web of Webhead will be previewing the new Star Wars Attacktix Series 4 and Transformers Attacktix Series 1.

Today's previews both come to us from the planet Endor…

 Biker Scout

Biker Scout

  • Attack: Small Missile
  • Defense: Small Base
  • Points: 10
  • Attacktix Class: Trooper
  • Star Wars Class: Empire
  • Base Speed: 4
  • Special Power: Attackback – Empire
  • Number: (SW/01)4)

The new Biker Scout is a variant version of the Scout Trooper from Series 2.  Clearly the Biker Scout has been trekking around Endor on foot, as you can tell by his mudded up boots.  Unlike the Scout Trooper, who is a Specialist, the Biker Scout is a Trooper Class figure, allowing him to fit into Trooper-centric teams more easily.  The Biker Scout has a solid Attackback Special for any Empire fig, making him a good fit on an Empire only team as well.

And who is the Biker Scout hunting through the Endor woods for?

Wicket

Wicket

  • Attack: Staff Swipe
  • Defense: Small Base
  • Points: 10
  • Attacktix Class: Trooper
  • Star Wars Class: Ewok
  • Base Speed: 8
  • Special Power: Evade – Ewok
  • Number: (SW/03)4)

Wicket leads the charge of a new Class of Star Wars Attacktix figures, the diminutive Ewoks.  Wicket is a small sturdy Striker who is heavier than he looks thanks to the fallen tree he uses to base himself.  Though on the slow side for Strikers with a base speed of 8, as a Trooper he can take advantage of R2-Q5 for a solid speed boost in a pinch.  His true value stems from his powerful Evade Special Power, Wicket will be a must play on any Ewok-centric team.

You might be wondering why I keep referring to "Base Speed".  Starting with these new sets, Attacktix figures have a new movment tracker.  Instead of a printed number on the base, the figure speed is shown in the top window.  Instead of just flipping from red to black, the window now shows the figures speed alternating between red and white text.  All figures will have a base speed in line with previous figures, but speed dials can have "sweet spots" with an extra 'Tix of speed, or "weak spots" with a 'Tix less of speed.

That's it for tonight.  Make sure to check the Joe Attacktix site for the Transformers previews, todays feature Landmine and Dirtboss.  Check back here tomorrow for more from Star Wars Series 4. – B

1. Yaggleberry Finn - June 7, 2006

So are you saying he will mainly have a speed of 8, but there will be points where his speed is either 7 or 9? Just a one tix difference doesn’t seem all that impressive.

I do like the Biker Scout, this time around as a Trooper. He has the same powerful gun as Leia does, and would make a much better Imperial support figure than the Stormtrooper, as Stormtroopers seem to be very wobbly and easy to take down.
