I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Free Comic Book Day Wolverine HeroClix fig a few days early, and though I know it's no secret what he looks like or what his dial is, I thought I'd give him a right proper review anyway…

Just in case you missed the other post about it, Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, May 6th.  You can read all about it here: www.freecomicbookday.com

One of the give aways this year is a promo version of the Armor Wars Wolverine figure.  There are two variants, both numbered #219 of the Armor Wars set.  The virst variant is the white shirt version with "I [Heart] HeroClix" on the back, the other is the black shirt version with the WizKids logo on the back.  Unlike the Armor Wars Unique which was SHIELD affiliation as part of the House of M storyline, this promo Wolverine is back to his X-Men roots.  The dial is nice and solid as well, for 57 point you get 5 clicks of 10 and 9 attacks, followed by 3 clicks of an 8 attack.  The powers are nice as well, with attacks flowing from Blades to Flurry to Close Combat Expert, and defense switching from Toughness to the newly revamped Combat Relexes, then to some Willpower before finishing with the signature Regeneration clix.  Battle Fury shows up in all non-CCE slots except the first, making him "flyer friendly" in the early game.  Overall, he kind of reminds me of a toned down version of the Persuader, the way his attacks go especially.  All in all a fun little fig, the kind I like best, where each click brings something new to the table.  And, after all, free is a very good price. – B
