Saturday April 14th was the first TixCon event…a mega tournament with tons of prizes and tons of gaming.

On top of all that we hosted a charity auction, featuring a handful of unique items, including boosters signed by the artist, signed Shortpacked! cartoons, and some one-of-kind pieces, as well as some hard to find older products.  Additionally, many participants in the art and custom contest donated their pieces, raising additional funds.

When all was said and done, $200 has been donated to the Marine Toys for Tots Charity on behalf of the TixCon participants.  This charity seems a particularly apt match for an event such as TixCon, which takes the enjoyment that comes from toys and games and uses it as a springboard for making a great gaming community.

Finally, I have made the decision that Toys for Tots will remain the charity of choice for TixCon 2008.  Additionally, I have set a goal to raise $500 during the course of next years event for the Toys for Tots program…please join me next year for a great day (or two?) of gaming…  - B
