Brett’s Notes: If you had to pick one of Spider-Man’s many foes to be his arch-enemy…I think it would have to be the Green Goblin. Years ago he caused the death of Gwen Stacey, and now he’s back, threatening Peter’s family again and again. When I was a kid, I had this cool Spider-Man sleeping bag, and the thing I remember most was the scene where Green Goblin had captured Spider-Man, unmasked him, and dragged him along behind his glider. Here, his Capture power is representative of his scheming ways…even when imprisoned, he finds ways to manipulate Spider-Man (and his other enemies) from behind the scenes, a perfect match for the Capture power. The condition of having a Warrior in play should be easy to meet…not only will you find a villain Warrior in the Starter alongside Green Goblin, but if you saw yesterday’s preview, you already know there is at least one other Sinister Syndicate Warrior.
Joe’s Notes:Before there was Venom, Green Goblin was Spider-Man’s number one foe. In the Marvel Heroes Starter Set, Spidey and Wolverine are each paired with their arch enemy, and for Halloween there is no better villain to be featured. Green Goblin is a flier, much like flying Boba Fett from Star Wars Series 4, with the same Base Speed but with a longer string.
Green Golbin’s glider rests much lower than flying Boba’s jet pack, giving him a much sturdier stance. One of the most excellent features of Green Goblin is his Pumpkin Bomb… a standard missile with a fully sculpted pumpkin on the end. The pumpkin doesn’t just look cool, but also provides a blunter and more powerful striking surface. He is an excellent figure for the basic Starter Set, and comes paired with Sabretooth to help trigger his Special Power: Capture – Attacker, which will present Spider-Man with the classic hero’s dilemma… sacrificing yourself to save others.
Look for more previews tomorrow on the Joe Attacktix site. – B
